At Normont Elementary we believe that every student, parent, staff, teacher and administrator counts. We are not a school in the community, we are a school of the community and are honored to serve the Harbor City area. All LAUSD schools are closed to prevent the spread of COVID-19. Our school is committed to our students' learning by transitioning to online learning. We will try our best to supplement our students' education at home in a meaningful way so that they will continue to thtive.
TK AND kINDER eNROLLMENT
I hope to find all Normont families healthy and thriving during this difficult time. In transitioning into distance learning I would like to emphasize our expectations for students. It is important for the students to participate online and checking in daily with their teachers. I have been working with your teachers to prepare them in using online platforms to provide digital learning for our students. Please visit the school website to find your child’s teacher’s email to send any updated contact information or you may email me at vxc5041@lausd.net with any questions or concerns.
I want to encourage them to read every day, to help at home with chores and to reach out to their teachers if they need support.
This is all a new normal for us, so we tremendously appreciate your support and flexibility.
We must work together as a team, therefore, parents please hold your children accountable for their work, have students attend the live lessons taught by their teachers twice a week, have students attend office hours when needed. Parents please maintain constant and consistent communication with the takes.
